Turning Off the Lights
It’s taken me 10 days to realize that the Sarah Palin Show was just a side show, not the main event. It was a brilliantly conceived distraction for an entire nation and, following the news online as it updated minute by minute on the Internet, I had a front row seat.
Bring on the dancing girls. The Palin Show enabled Republican presidential nominee John McCain to hide in the shadows after the nearly perfect scorecard for BarackObama and the Democrats at their national convention in Denver.
We now know enough about Time’s cover girl Sarah to know that she was a made-for-TV creation of GOP neocons. The perfect distraction to keep the nation from looking deeply into John McCains flickering eyes to see what really drives him.
Now it’s time to turn the spotlight on John McCain.
